Judge Unlikely for Yankees Wild Card Series

Yankees manager Aaron Boone doesn't expect Aaron Judge to be available for the AL Wild Card Series due to a calf injury, though the star outfielder plans to return.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone revealed he doesn't expect Aaron Judge to be with the team during the American League Wild Card Series (Sept. 29-Oct. 1) due to a calf strain. Judge was placed on the injured list retroactive to Sept. 17 after returning from a three-month absence with a rib injury. capturengo.com

Despite Boone's assessment, Judge told ESPN his "plan" is to return for the Wild Card Series. The eight-time All-Star also disputed Boone's characterization of his injury as "moderate," stating "everybody's 'moderate' is a little different." In seven games since his return from the rib injury, Judge hit .174 with one home run and three RBIs.
