Collier Backtracks on WNBA Criticism

Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier has walked back her scathing criticism of WNBA leadership, calling her previous remarks 'a little dramatic' after the league secured a new collective bargaining agreement.

Collier, who had previously accused the league of having "the worst leadership in the world" and being "tone-deaf" and "dismissive," reflected on her comments during a recent NPR interview. She acknowledged that while her criticism was necessary for CBA negotiations, it may have been overstated.

The WNBA Players Association vice president's original comments last fall drew support from peers like Indiana Fever guard Lexie Hull, who praised Collier for "making that statement" at a crucial time for the league. The 2026 WNBA season is set to begin on May 8 following the successful negotiation of a new CBA. wlop.pl
