Pique Receives Two-Month Ban After Referee Clash

In a heated post‑match exchange, Pique allegedly told the referee to leave with an escort and warned of potential violence, prompting a disciplinary action. The Spanish federation cited his conduct as “notorious and public acts that undermine sporting dignity.” Other Andorra staff, including club president Ferran Vilaseca and sporting director Jaume Nogues, received suspensions as well.

Kike Hernandez’s Promising Triple-A Rehab Debut Shows He Can Fix Dodgers’ Weakness

Los Angeles Dodgers do-it-all player Kike Hernandez was able to do something that the 2026 Dodgers have not been able to do consistently — hit the baseball. game-sweetbonanza.com

On Tuesday, Hernandez made his 2026 baseball season debut with the Oklahoma City Comets in Triple-A.

He went 1-for-3 with a double in his first taste of baseball since the 2025 World Series vs. the Toronto Blue Jays.

Hernandez is only weeks away from coming back if his recovery from offseason elbow surgery is completed as expected. His performance on Tuesday shows that he is indeed close, though it will be measured by how he handles recovery after consecutive days of play.

Hernandez is not the only player who is rehabilitating with the Comets. He is joining Brusdar Graterol, the reliever who has not played in an MLB game since the 2024 World Series.

Additionally, Blake Snell is traveling with the team. The southpaw will make at least a start before joining the team later this month.

Kike Hernandez’s impressive recovery

Hernandez has done a great job of making sure that he is ready as soon as possible. He started the season on the 60-day injured list after his surgery, and he has continued to make steady progress from the start of spring until now.

“Feeling great, man. We’re really ahead of schedule, which is a good thing. Left elbow surgery, they put me on the 60-day (injured list), so I’ve still got to wait,” Hernandez said a few weeks ago.

“I am eligible to come off on the 24th (of May), but chances are I’m going to be active on the 25th if everything goes well, according to plan the rest of the way, rehab assignment. The 24th is a day game in Milwaukee, and I would rather play at home than the road.”

His recovery is impressive, especially given how complicated Tommy Edman’s journey has been. The switch-hitter is struggling with setbacks, something Hernandez has avoided for months.

Now, Hernandez is right near the finish line of getting back on the field, and his presence will be welcomed on the field if he has hitting days like Tuesday more often than he did in 2025.

Stefon Diggs case "remains under review" by the NFL

Tuesday's acquittal of free-agent receiver Stefon Diggs on charges of strangulation and assault ends the criminal case against him. It does not end the NFL's investigation of the situation.

From an NFL spokesperson: "We have been monitoring all developments in the matter which remains under review of the Personal Conduct Policy."

The NFL applies a much lower standard of proof, when it comes to the evaluation of allegations of domestic violence or other conduct that falls under the Personal Conduct Policy. Tuesday's verdict means only that the prosecution failed to prove the allegations beyond a reasonable doubt.

Despite the obvious issues with the testimony of the alleged victim, Mila Adams, as to various topics related to the alleged incident, her testimony regarding the alleged incident was clear and unequivocal, and unrebutted. If she chooses to cooperate, the NFL could interview her and come to its own conclusion as to whether she was telling the truth as to the incident itself — despite the truth-telling capabilities that otherwise emerged while she was being cross-examined.

Also, Diggs exercised his constitutional right to not testify. He will not have that ability, if/when the NFL seeks to interview him.

However it goes from here, the acquittal doesn't end the inquiry. And it wouldn't be the first time that a player was disciplined despite not being charged criminally. In 2022, the NFL suspended Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson 10 games even though he was not indicted by a grand jury in Texas.

Despite the flaws inherent to the NFL's in-house justice system (including the lack of subpoena power), the Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination does not apply to the NFL's investigative process. The jury didn't hear his story. If the NFL wants to hear it, the NFL will.

Why Jaylen Brown-Donovan Mitchell Swap Could Reshape Celtics And Cavs This Offseason

Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown

The Boston Celtics will have to weigh the possibility of trading star guard Jaylen Brown this offseason. Brown just wrapped up a career year, stepping up to lead the team while Jayson Tatum was sidelined recovering from his torn Achilles injury last May.

Although Brown and Tatum did play together in the playoffs this season, their journey ended early with a tough seven-game loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. This defeat might be a factor prompting the Celtics to consider shaking up their roster.

Tatum isn't going anywhere, and if Boston wants to make a significant move in a different direction, trading Brown could be the way to go. Trading him for Cavs star guard Donovan Mitchell could be a good outcome for both teams.

Why a Brown-Mitchell Trade Works for the Cavs and Celtics

Mitchell has established himself as one of the NBA's best players over the past nine seasons. Yet, he has never advanced beyond the second round of the playoffs. The Cavs currently trail the Pistons by one game in a second-round playoff series that began on Tuesday. If Cleveland can't wrap up the series, there's a strong possibility that Mitchell may not play another game for the Cavaliers.

Mitchell has two more years remaining on his contract after this season, which he signed for the 2026-27 year. He also has a player option for the 2027-28 season, meaning he could become a free agent after next season.

If the Cavs cannot secure a long-term contract with Mitchell this summer, there is a chance they may consider trading him during the offseason. Cleveland has watched LeBron James leave twice in free agency without receiving anything in return, and the Cavs can't afford to let that happen again with Mitchell.

The Celtics might consider trading Brown for Mitchell, along with a few other player pieces. This move would bring an elite scorer into the lineup alongside Tatum, significantly strengthening the Celtics, and the Cavs would get a star player in return to help them win now.
