Macdonald Apologizes to Payton for Off-Record Comments

During a Wednesday press conference, Macdonald confirmed that his remarks about Payton, which included a "Cold War" reference to Spygate, were made before he believed the interview with Graham Bensinger was being recorded. He emphasized there was a "certain type of understanding" about how the comments would be used. sport-newz.biz

"It was something I didn't intend to come out for public use," Macdonald stated, explaining he reached out to Payton directly with an apology. "Thought it was the most appropriate thing to reach out to Sean and really just apologize to him for having that be public when it wasn't meant to."
