Harbaugh Backs McDaniel Amid Offensive Struggles

Despite the Los Angeles Chargers ranking 20th in offense with Justin Herbert's passer rating of 73.4, head coach Jim Harbaugh expressed full trust in offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel. "No, we trust Mike. We believe in Mike," Harbaugh stated, while noting the team has more turnovers (six) than touchdowns (five) this season. likesport.biz

Harbaugh did publicly criticize Herbert's decision-making, saying the quarterback "needs to be better," but has not directed similar criticism at McDaniel, who he hired this offseason to add a dynamic element to the offense. Herbert defended McDaniel's scheme, stating, "He's definitely a guy that we need to lean on; he's done such an incredible job."
