Netflix doubles down on video games by partnering with Sega for movie adaptations of Crazy Taxi and Stranger Than Heaven

Hey hey hey, it's time for Netflix to make some crazy money (as if they don’t have enough already)! Are you ready? Here we go! As part of a major push for more video game adaptations, the streaming service's has partnered with Sega to adapt the publisher's beloved 1999 racing game, which will switch lanes and become a feature film. truewildgame.com

To ensure that the level of ridiculousness on the road meets demand, Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, who wrote The Naked Gun reboot, have been tasked with taking the wheel and penning a script (per Netflix). Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, and Sega’s Toru Nakahara are overseeing things as producers.

The news lines up nicely with the impending arrival of Crazy Taxi: World Tour, which everyone was beeping their horns over until we learned it was set to use generative AI. Like it or not, we're getting a lot more Crazy Taxi than we expected.

But while an audience for Crazy Taxi seems like a sure thing, they’re also gambling on a video game that the world hasn’t gone hands on with yet. Like a Dragon prequel video game, Stranger Than Heaven, is set to arrive next year, and Netflix seems so confident that they’re turning that into a movie as well. Set in Japan across different eras between 1915 and 1965, the game lets players control Makoto Daito, a Japanese-American orphan who ends up in Japan and eventually forms the Tojo Clan.

Strange as it might sound, adapting the game that sees documented cabbies ripping up the streets and running into hot dog vendors might seem easier to adapt than the Like a Dragon prequel, when you consider some of the important pieces involved. The game drew a lot of attention after it was announced that deceased rapper Tupac Shakur, as well as actor Bunta Sugawara, who died in 2014, would be included as integral characters. Putting characters that look like famous dead people is one thing, but it begs the question of how they’ll be integrated into whatever live-action plans they have in place.

Finally, the last project coming down the pipeline is a new Sonic the Hedgehog animated kids series, which honestly sounds like the easiest project of the bunch. Discussing the upcoming entries, Sega’s head producer said, "Expect something cute yet cool for Sonic, hilariously crazy for Crazy Taxi and a badass action drama for Stranger Than Heaven, because we’ve got some amazing creative ideas lined up and we are just getting started. The whole team is absolutely thrilled!"

The Crazy Taxi and Stranger Than Heaven movies are currently undated. For more, check out our list of upcoming video game movies.

Valve’s Steam Frame VR headset opens for orders, with the cheapest model priced at a lenswatering £889 / $1,059

Valve have just launched the Steam Frame wireless VR headset, finally completing the triumvirate of new hardware – along with the new Steam Machine and Steam Controller – that they unveiled all the way back in November 2025. The review embargo has also lifted, meaning I can tell you that it’s a smart and flexible piece of virtual reality kit. Definitely the most versatile of its kind, in terms of how it lets you play games.

Less triumphantly, the Frame has clearly sustained the impact of the same memory shortages and component cost explosions that jacked up the Machine’s pricing and limited its stock. Thus, despite initial plans to make the Frame cheaper than the ultra-premium Valve Index, the Steam Frame starts at £889 / $1,059 / €1,049 for the smaller 256GB model. That rises to £1,089 / $1,299 / €1,279 for the top 1TB version, with several accessory options potentially bumping out the outlay even further.

Fernandez-Pardo was, I’m sure, signed to be a starter. He’s had time to settle into a new home and have a look at things; now it’s time to get to work. The sense is he’ll be on the top line, with Wissa behind him.

Alreet, I’ll write those down, then we’ll consider what we might see.

Someone made a copper gaming PC Frankensteined out of an old blowtorch and other assorted parts and is 'just going to let it tarnish over time'

Custom Copper 9070xt, 9800x3d Build
from r/pcmasterrace

There's being into PC hardware and then there's crafting a glorious custom loop. Every time I see the latter I'm hit with a pang of jealousy, and it's no different here with Old-Mate-Fetus' custom copper build on Reddit.

We highlighted a similarly impressive different custom copper PC a few months ago. This latest copper build looks a little more extravagant to my eyes, and I'm not sure which I prefer.

In the centre is an Alphacool Core RX 9070 XT cooling block. Presumably it is the Aorus Elite version, given the Redditor says the motherboard is a Gigabyte B650M Aurous Elite Wifi.

Here's the full list of components (with perhaps slight variations from the specific models linked, which I have added):

According to Old-Mate-Fetus, the build weighs close to 20 kg.

The most eye-catching part of the build for me, and what sets it apart from other copper builds I've seen, is that blowtorch. Reminiscent of one of those handheld oil drippers mechanics use, but with a glorious copper sheen, plus a bunch of pipes poking out of it. It makes the whole thing look very artsy.

In another comment, the Redditor says they're "just going to let it tarnish over time, i quite like the look."

You won't catch me repurposing old PSU cables and blowtorches for a PC build anytime soon, but it's cool to see someone with the guts doing so and sharing the result—not mention, then using it to play Overwatch, judging by the corner of the screen: good choice.
